Sally will be performing two intimate solo shows in New York and LA this April. On Thursday 18th April she will play Joe’s Pub in New York, and on Thursday 25th April, at The Hotel Cafe in Los Angeles. Both shows will feature Sally on piano and guitar, previewing songs which will feature on her new album, and she will also play stripped back versions of songs from her album ‘Heart That’s Pounding’.

A Sydney show for Sally

Sally will now be playing shows in Adelaide, Melbourne and Sydney this March. A show at The Vanguard has been announced for Thursday March 21.
Having commenced 2012 with a series of shows alongside Grammy Award winning artist Bon Iver, Sally quickly and quietly decamped to her home studio to commence work on her fourth studio album as a solo artist.
Sally – whose most recent release was as part of Seeker Lover Keeper alongside Holly Throsby & Sarah Blasko – has assembled a collection of material that will make up her new album which is due for release later in 2013. She is excited to announce that she is co-producing the album with her husband Darren Seltmann. More information about the album will be revealed in the coming months.

Sally for Doveman’s Burgundy Stain Sessions

Sally will be appearing at the upcoming Adelaide Festival this March as part of Doveman’s Burgundy Stain Sessions. The evening of entertainment sees New York musician Thomas Barltett AKA Doveman transport his monthly in-the-round Le Poisson Rouge residency direct from New York for an Adelaide Festival exclusive. His New York residency has attracted everyone from Norah Jones to St. Vincent’s Annie Clark, Beth Orton, Nico Muhly and Laurie Anderson. Sally will be joining Doveman in Adelaide, alongside multi-instrumentalist Kate Stables, aka This is the Kit, Robert Forster of The Go-Betweens, Vermont folk-music artist Sam Amidon, and one half of Australia’s favourite ARIA Award-winning brother-sister duo, Julia Stone.

Sally at The Famous Spiegeltent

We are excited to announce that Sally will be performing at The Famous Spiegeltent on March 20th 2013. The show is part of a season of entertainment which is being presented by the Arts Centre Melbourne from February through until April 2013. Sally will perform stripped back versions of songs from ‘Heart That’s Pounding’ on grand piano and acoustic guitar, as well as previewing songs which will feature on her forthcoming album. Sally at Men of Letters

Sally is super-excited to be DJ-ing at the upcoming Men of Letters, Sydney – Part Two in a Series. The event will be held on Sunday October 21 at The Basement, Circular Quay from 3pm. A selection of some of the country’s finest gentlemen will be appearing at Men of Letters, each of them will be penning and reading letters to ‘The Woman Who Changed My Life’, and proceeds from the event will be donated to Edgar’s Mission. Sally in Open Field

Sally joins Claudia Karvan, Alice Garner, The New Yorker cartoonist Liza Donnelly, and a host of other talented women for the first issue of Open Field iPad magazine. Each woman featured in the magazine shares a personal story about a transforming moment in their life. Sally provides a personal interview about her close friend Lara Meyerratken, and how Lara has inspired and shaped Sally’s life and music.
All proceeds from sales of Open Field magazine go to women, via the charity CARE. The magazine is available via iTunes.

Alphabet Botanical, Thank You Bon Iver, and SLK

Sally would like to introduce her new side project, Alphabet Botanical. It’s a creative collaboration, a magical wonderland, an escape from her solo work, in which she plans to collaborate with many different artists.
So far, she has co-written and recorded two songs with the very talented Tim Myers, and she has co-written and recorded a duet with her good friend Ben Lee.
Alphabet Botanical’s first single A New Feeling is now available worldwide on iTunes.

Sally would also like to say a huge thank you to Bon Iver and the entire band and crew for having her along as the support for the Australian shows. She was really inspired by the Bon Iver shows, and is now back in her home studio working away on her next solo album.

Also, a reminder that the Seeker Lover Keeper album is now available on iTunes in Japan, the USA and Canada. On April 2 the album will be released in the UK on Micro Data Records!

After a busy year touring with band Seeker Lover Keeper, Sally is excited to announce that she will be supporting Grammy award nominated artist Bon Iver AKA Justin Vernon on his Australian tour in March 2012.

With writing now underway for her fourth album (and her second under her own name as she previously released records under the ‘New Buffalo’ moniker), Sally intends to record her new solo album in 2012. “I have been working on some songs for my next solo album, even though I have been really busy playing shows with Seeker Lover Keeper. I love Bon Iver’s music, and can’t wait to play some of my new songs live.”

Vernon’s appreciation of Sally’s work is well documented. In 2009 he named Sally’s New Buffalo album ‘Somewhere, anywhere.’ as the most important album to him of the last few years. Earlier in 2011 Vernon went on record for Triple J’s Hottest 100 Australian Albums, saying “It became the most important album for me for two to three years. It was so complete.”

Women of Letters
The curators of the popular Women of Letters events – Michaela McGuire and Marieke Hardy – have published a collection of letters. The letters have been penned by a host of personalities who have read at previous Women of Letters functions. Sally’s love letter to the song Halo is included among these. All royalties from the sale of this book will go to Edgar’s Mission animal rescue. Visit the Women of Letters website for more info.

‘Decouvert’ – It’s French for ‘Recovery’!
French singer Mercedes Audras has recorded and released her own interpretations of some of Sally’s New Buffalo songs.
French and Spanish versions of ‘Recovery’, ‘Cheer Me Up Thank You’, ‘Come Back’, and ‘I’ve Got You and You’ve Got Me’ feature on Mercedes’ album ’10,000kms’. The album has been released in France, Chile, Paraguay, Uruguay and Argentina.

Seeker Lover Keeper
A new version of the Seeker Lover Keeper self-titled album is now available both on iTunes and in stores. Retailing at a special price, the new version also features the film clips for ‘Light All My Lights’, ‘Even Though I’m a Woman’ and ‘On My Own’. The album re-issue coincides with a series of performances by the girls in churches and cathedrals around the Australia for Heavenly Sounds.
